By now, you are realizing that the school year is flying by, and that it is nearly time to begin looking forward to that incredible camp event!  The district leadership is striving to bring our youth a camp experience they will never forget.  As we see a “God-Thing” happening all around us, the youth of Missouri are coming together…to pray for one another during camp, and to share leadership to do great things for the Kingdom of God.

Here are all the facts you need to know to begin to get your young people registered for Camp:

Camp 2009, Facts and Figures

“When?”         June 8-12, 2009

  • Registration: 12:00-3:00 p.m., June 8th.
  • First Meal: Lunch, June 8th, 12:00 p.m.
  • Last Meal: Lunch, June 12th, 11:00 a.m

“Where?”       Pinecrest Nazarene Campground, Fredericktown, MO.

“Who?”           We welcome all teens!  All teens who have completed 7th through the 12th grade are welcome.

  • Middle School (Jr. High) will be for those students who have just completed 7th through 8th grade.
  • High School (Sr. High) will be for those students who have just completed 9th through 12th grade.  Each church must provide sponsors for their teens.  Pinecrest campground and MO district require at least one sponsor for every 8 teens!  Please help us by providing adequate sponsors for your teens. 

“How Much?”

  •  Campers: $150 – regular registration fee, Postmarked by May 7th 
  • Sponsors: $Free  (Must be 21* and have turned in a sponsor application and pastor    recommendation form.
    IMPORTANT: New MO District policy – All sponsors of overnight events for youth under the age of 18 MUST have a background check and release form prior to the event. Therefore, it is VERY important that you get your application in by this deadline…otherwise you may not be able to stay as a counselor for your students.)
  • Late Registration:          $160 (Must be postmarked by May 31st)
  • Walk up Registration     $175 (can be paid at registration)

“Who’ll Be There?”

  • 300 to 400 Missouri Teens and Sponsors!  AND. . .
  • SPECIAL WORSHIP BAND:  Zach Harris – Zack Harris was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. He attended MidAmerica Nazarene University where he received his BA in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Music Ministry.  While at MNU he led worship in chapel services, helped with the College Church Junior High music ministry and traveled in the PR group “Narrow Road.”  Zack and his wife Nicole, currently reside in Vero Beach, Florida.  Zack serves as the worship pastor at First Church of the Nazarene in Fort Pierce, Florida.  He enjoys walks on the beach, traveling and working on his CD that is going to be on iTunes and in stores soon.  He has a true passion for leading worship and teaching people what it truly means to live a life of worship. 
  • SPECIAL SPEAKER: Ron Jackson-Ron Jackson is a 29 year youth ministry veteran. He has been a youth pastor in Alabama, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. Currently he is the director of community Life and Summer Conferences at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas, where he also teaches part time in Youth Ministry.  Ron has been the husband of Sharon for 26 years. They have two daughters Katie (17) and Kristi (15). He likes to read, watch football, snow ski and daydreams of one day owning a house on Pensacola Beach.

ATTENTION!   We want to make sure that registration goes smoothly and that housing is done as efficiently as possible.  By registering by May 7th, we will be able to begin to block out the rooms that your church will need at camp.  Registrations received after the registration date may not be assured of being placed in the same block of rooms with the rest of your group.

CAMP – Registration Checklist

  1. Collect all registration forms and release forms from teens and sponsors.
  2. BEFORE May 7th , mail Registration & Release forms, Sponsor Applications* & Pastoral Recommendations and registration fees  to the Registrar and include Camp Fees ON A SINGLE CHURCH CHECK to: MO NYI (forms received without a church check will not consider to be completed). Please also include a list of the students that were able to receive discounts and next to the student name please write the discount amount.

  3. Collect all remaining fees (including late fees) and bring A SINGLE CHURCH CHECK with you to Camp.
  4. *Pastors note the latest guidelines regarding the minimum age of sponsors to Youth Camp:

ALL volunteers must be at least 21 years old or a college graduate with exceptions ONLY for church staff or interns by camp director’s approval.

Pastors, we want you to be “in the know,” so please don’t hesitate to call your camp director or administrators with any questions you may have.  We are here to serve you and to serve the youth of Missouri.
